Hello and welcome to my new mini-website devoted to my on going project to building a full size replica Sd.Kfz.222. Using a 3.5L EFI V8 Range Rover chassis as the donor base vehicle with a 4mm sheet steel angled body for the upper hull and turret construction.

During my quest to build my own replica '222' I have amassed quite a lot of detailed information about this versatile vehicle along with the '221' & '223' examples. Used by the Wehrmacht during the course of the entire war and along all axis fronts, from France to Africa this vehicle went everywhere!
Of the various web sites around the world covering this subject few devote more than a page at best on this much loved light armoured car, so it was
a natural progression for me to build a site to contain all these details I have collected together for others to enjoy.

Some of you out there may already know me and the group to which I'm a member of www.gdrecon.co.uk and of course my intention for this vehicle being ultimately finished in early war panzer grey with 'GD' divisional insignia, since our group represents an armoured reconnaissance 'Aufklärungs' unit of the Grossdeutschland division during it's campaign on the Russian front - circa 1942.

Over time I will endeavour to add further details about both the original and replica vehicles and my on going project, so please return periodically and check out my updates, don't forget to bookmark us.

Kindest regards Simon Garner [aka Kurt Volkmar].
